This oil candle was thrown on the potter's wheel, glazed by hand, and fired onsite in our gas kiln at Goshen’s historic Old Bag Factory. It stands 5.5" tall and is around 4.5" in diameter at the base.
Fill your oil candle about two thirds of the way with a paraffin lamp oil (we recommend Ultra-Pure by Lamplight). Put the wick in place and allow ten minutes for the oil to saturate it. Adjust wick by pushing it up or down through the stoneware bead. A properly-placed wick will be almost level with the top of the bead.
Light your oil candle and wait five minutes for final adjustment (the flame will get taller as it warms up). Reduce the amount of wick showing if any smoking occurs. The wick should last indefinitely but if a replacement is needed, only 100% cotton or fiberglass will do.
