This piece was hand thrown on the potter's wheel and fired to 2300 degrees Fahrenheit using only wood. The kiln was stoked around the clock every 8 to 12 minutes for approximately 20 hours. The effects on the surface of the pot are created by the kiln's flames, which travel around the piece like water, and by adding soda at the height of the firing so that it collects on the surface of the pot, melts, then hardens to form a glaze.
It stands 5" tall and 3" wide across the rim. It holds 12 ounces.
All Goertzen pottery is dishwasher and microwave safe.
