This square(ish) bowl is 10" wide across the top at its narrowest, and 4.25" tall.
This piece was hand thrown on the potter's wheel. Then fired to 2300 degrees Fahrenheit using only wood. The kiln was stoked around the clock every 8 to 12 minutes for approximately 20 hours. The effects on the surface of the pot are created by the kiln's flames, which travel around the piece like water, and by adding soda at the height of the firing so that it collects on the surface of the pot, melts, then hardens to form a glaze.
All Goertzen pottery is food safe as well as microwave and dishwasher safe.
