This piece was hand thrown on the potter's wheel and fired to 2300 degrees F using only wood. For more than 20 hours straight, the kiln required stoking every 8 to 12 minutes. The effects on the surface of this pot are a result of the kiln's flames flowing around the piece like water throughout the firing. Soda is added when the kiln is at peak temperature and carried by the flames to collect on the surface of the pots, melt, and then harden to form a glaze.
It stands 4.25" tall and 2.75" wide across the rim. It holds 12 ounces.
All Goertzen pottery is dishwasher and microwave safe.
